Madeleine Laird, HOPE for Animals founder and Clinic Executive Director, has been a Fort Wayne resident since 1998.  Prior to founding HOPE for Animals, Madeleine was an active volunteer at Fort Wayne animal Care and Control and served as President of Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control Commission.  Madeleine’s dream was to help make the city of Fort Wayne a pet friendly place that provides low cost health care, spay/neuter and vaccination programs for pet parents, as well as a safe haven for homeless and abused pets.  With the opening of the clinic, which provides low cost spay/neuter, part of her dream has come true.  Now she hopes to decrease euthanasia in Northeast Indiana by educating the public on the importance of spay and neuter.  Madeleine is married to Rob Laird and they share their home with their much loved husky mix, Cheyenne.

                                          Emily Pinney
                                          Business Manager

                                          emily@hopespayneuterclinic.org

Emily began her career in animal welfare when she joined the HOPE staff in August 2010.  Prior to joining our team, she worked as an account rep for a dental/medical device company.  Working so closely with the shelters in our area has opened her eyes to the reality of just how many pets are unwanted in Fort Wayne.  Doing as much as she can to reduce shelter overpopulation is her daily mission!  Emily’s oldest furry child, Lilly, found her years ago and quickly became the princess that she is now.  Her younger pup, Porter, was let out of a car in the neighborhood of one of her volunteers, and brought to her at the clinic.  She loves taking them to see their best friend, Maxwell the Katrina rescue dog that her best friend owns, for play dates.

                                          megan@hopespayneuterclinic.org
Megan has been with the clinic since May 2010 before its opening in June 2010.  Before working with HOPE, she worked at Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control in many capacities including Adoptions, Animal Care Specialist, and Animal Control Officer.  She was happy to contribute her networking skills to FWACC and form a rescue program working with over 100 different regional and national rescue groups to move animals out of the shelter to save more lives.  She decided to make the move to HOPE because of her passionate belief in spay/neuter and saving lives through owner education.  Megan graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in May 2010 with a Bachelors of Management and Marketing.

In her free time, Megan enjoys camping, cooking, knitting, and writing.  Megan is married to Jack Close and they share their home with their four rescued and spayed/neuter dogs, Harley a Pitbull mix, Wilbur a Great Pyrenees, Tucker a Yorkie/Jack Russell (pictured), and Isabelle a Schnauzer.

Rick has a beautiful two year old daughter, Ava, is very much a dog lover.  Their dogs, Lilly and Bishop, are both rescued white pitbulls from Alaska.  He loves to ride his bike with his pups and spend as much time as possible playing with his little girl.
